The Audi A7 Sportback is a hatchback that has taken its place between the A6 and A8 model ranges. The premiere of the car took place on July 27, 2010. It was created on the basis of the Audi Sportback Concept (Detroit 2009), but the production model’s design is more conservative and focused on other Audi cars. The cockpit, on the contrary, was embodied in almost the same form as in the concept.
Body
The body has a drag coefficient of 0.28 and is equipped with a rear spoiler that extends automatically at speeds over 130 km/h. The car measures 4.97 m long and 1.91 m wide, while its relatively low height (1.42 m) enhances the overall impression of sportiness and dynamism. Body
The standard and additional equipment list correspond to the premium equipment level. For example, the top-of-the-range Audi A7 Sportback uses the Head-Up Display, which projects navigation information and speed onto the windshield. As an alternative to this innovation, there is a 6.5-inch screen on the instrument panel. The MMI navigation plus, with an 8″ display and powerful graphics processor, is a new infotainment system with user-friendly operation and fingertip control on the MMI Touch, Bluetooth, AUX and USB connections. From the standard equipment, the car received multi-zone climate control, heated seats, a multifunctional steering wheel with audio control buttons and cruise control.
Engine & Gearbox
Initial modifications of the A7 Sportback with a naturally aspirated V6 2.8 FSI engine have 204 hp in stock. Power and are equipped with a Multitronic CVT (front-wheel drive) or a 7-speed S Tronic robotic gearbox (Quattro all-wheel drive). Dynamic performance – acceleration to 100 km / h in 7.9 and 8.3 seconds, top speed – 235 km / h. The declared average gasoline consumption is 7.4 and 8 l / 100 km. The more powerful 3.0 TFSI Quattro version has a three-litre V6 petrol turbo engine with a power reserve of 310 hp. Acceleration from zero to “hundreds” – in 5.6 seconds, “maximum speed” – 250 km / h. The average consumption is 8.2 l / 100 km. The diesel 3.0 TDI Quattro uses common-rail direct fuel injection and produces 245 hp. Acceleration to 100 km / h – in 6.3 seconds, top speed – 250 km / h. The average consumption is relatively modest – 5.9 litres of diesel fuel per 100 km.
Suspension Parts
The chassis settings of the A7 Sportback combine sporty precision with high comfort. Additionally, an adaptive air suspension with stepless electronic adjustment of the stiffness of shock absorbers with the possibility of changing the clearance is offered. The car can also have a sports suspension with tighter settings and lower ground clearance. More efficient brakes are available with more prominent and lighter brake discs for a surcharge. The electromechanical steering system is used for greater efficiency. It can be supplemented with Dynamic Steering, which actively changes the steering ratio depending on the vehicle speed and Audi Drive Select mode.
Road Safety
All versions of the A7 Sportback hatchback in the base are equipped with front and side airbags, curtain airbags, parking sensors, traction control and traction control. Other safety features include active front seat head restraints, pre-tensioned seat belts with force limiters, optional radar warning systems, automatic braking function, and more.
