About The Audi A5
The Audi A5 is a sports car (a two-door coupe based on the Audi A4 platform). The model has been produced by the German automaker Audi since 2007 at the plant in Ingolstadt. The Audi A5 was presented simultaneously at the Geneva Motor Show and the Melbourne International Motor Show on March 6, 2007. The manufacturer positions the model as a Gran Turismo car, declaring it a competitor to the BMW E92 (BMW 3-series coupe) and Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class.
Engine & Gearbox
The petrol engines of the Audi A5 Coupé are equipped with the Audi valve lift system. This system reduces internal friction, giving the engine outstanding dynamic performance. For example, the 3.2 FSI engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds.
The 2.0 TFSI engines combine these advantages with a turbocharger for even more power. The 2.0 TFSI engine is available in two versions with different power ratings: 180 hp (132 kW) and 211 hp (155 kW). Both versions are equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or a Multitronic box. 2.0 TFSI engine with 211 hp (155 kW) is also available on models with Quattro permanent all-wheel drive.
Using a more modern air intake system made it possible to ensure the high fuel efficiency of the engine when operating at low and medium loads. The maximum torque has increased to 330 N•m in the 3000-5000 rpm range. At 6500 rpm, a power of 265 hp is achieved. With. The engine works with a conventional mechanical 6-speed gearbox or an automatic transmission Multitronic, based on a V-belt variator (Belt CVT).
The distribution of engine torque in the Quattro transmission is carried out in a ratio of 40:60 in favour of the rear wheels. However, this ratio will automatically change depending on driving conditions and tire grip.
In addition to gasoline, the model has two diesel engines. The economical version is equipped with a 2.7-litre V6 TDI diesel engine with a capacity of 190 hp. With., which only works with Multitronic. More expensive is a Quattro drive, a 3.0-litre 240-horsepower power unit that only has a conventional 6-speed manual transmission.
